SAMUEL SAID "MAMA!"
After 30 months of waiting for that sweet sound he says it in a shoe store. Three times.
The story goes like this:
We (Me, Samuel, Gabriel, Mandy & Shelby) were at a shoe store looking for Shelby a birthday gift (her birthday was yesterday). The boys were starting to get fussy. It was WAY past their nap time. I was trying to entertain them with the many mirrors that were in this shoe store, it worked for about 5 minutes, tops. So Mandy stayed with the boys as I went to look for Shelby so we could leave. As I was walking away Samuel already fussy, making his "mmmmmm" sounds said "mmmmm ma ma". I whipped my head around and Mandy said, "I think he said Mama, try it again." So I walked away again around the corner where he couldn't see me but I could hear him and again "mmmmmm ma ma". Mandy was laughing and said "HE SAID IT AGAIN!!" So I got up real close to him and asked him in an excited Mommy voice "Did you say Mama? Did you say Mama? Mama? Mama?" Of course, he didn't respond to my question (actually, come to think of it he said "Dada", typical) so to get my answer/confirmation I tried it one last time (3 times a charm, right?). AGAIN, "mmmmm ma ma"!! I got him out of the stroller and squeezed him so tight, kissed on him and thanked Jesus.
I've been praying that God would touch his mouth and give him His words to speak (Jeremiah 1:9). I just didn't figure it would be "Mama". But I'm glad it was.
Thank you God.
